Morning (Optional Guided Visits):
The small, peaceful church where St. Francis heard Christ speak to him from the crucifix, saying, “Rebuild my Church.” It is also where St. Clare lived and founded the Poor Clares.
Located in the valley of Assisi, this basilica houses the little chapel restored by St. Francis and is one of the most important Franciscan sites in the world.
These will be offered as optional morning visits, and pilgrims may choose to join or enjoy the morning on their own.

Even if you’ve already visited with the group earlier in the pilgrimage, spending more time here is always worthwhile. The frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue are masterpieces that reward a slower, personal visit.

The heart of Assisi’s old town—perfect for coffee, gelato, shopping, people-watching, and photographs.
A quiet forested hermitage on the slopes of Mount Subasio where St. Francis prayed in solitude. (Taxi recommended unless the pilgrims enjoy long walks.)
A medieval fortress offering the absolute best view of Assisi and the Umbrian valley. Great for photos.
Charming medieval streets lined with local shops, leather goods, ceramics, cafés, and artisan products.
