First, I'd like to say that I am well traveled with 30 years in the military and countless family vacations all around the world. With that said, this was by far the best trip I've ever taken. I had numerous things that could have made it a disaster. I didn't sleep the night before our flight because since we needed to be at the airport at 3am on a Monday, I was worried I would oversleep and miss my flight. We landed in Rome at 9:30am on Tuesday and at that point, I'd been awake for over 48 hours and still had a full day scheduled. To top it off, I had a horrible sunburn, which made the long flights extremely uncomfortable and I couldn't sleep on the places. Additionally, I left my prescription glasses that were also transition glasses(they turn into sunglasses), on the plane... apparently my body was so sleep deprived and my immune system was not happy fighting my sunburn, that I ended up getting a bad head cold. While in Italy, they were having a heatwave and most days were in the low 90s. At this point, I had to just laugh. I was on a Pilgrimage after all and was supposed to suffer some ☺ I'm only sharing all of my issues because even with all that going on, it was still the best trip I've ever taken. Trinity Tours made the most memorable itinerary imaginable. We even had Mass with the Pope, which was a surprise for all of us. Our tour guides were top notch with both knowledge and personality and our bus driver was the best driver I've ever ride with. How she was able to maneuver that big bus without hitting anything is a mystery. The hotels and food were incredible. Jimmy Akin and Dom Bettinelli were amazing. Being with 68 others who share my faith, for 12 days, was such a learning experience, as well as fun experience for me and I have made friends for life. Since returning home, I have been inundated with parishioners from my church, wanting to know about every aspect of my trip. It has brought me closer with them and I will forever be grateful that this Pilgrimage has also brought me closer to God. Don't put it off, book now, you will not regret it!

I had the opportunity to meet some truly wonderful people and experience breathtaking sites on this pilgrimage—an experience I will always treasure. However, there were a few logistical challenges along the way that I hope can be improved for future trips. Communication prior to the trip included some typos and lacked clarity about our meeting point, which made the initial arrival a bit confusing. The first couple of tours also got off to a rocky start, with some standing in the intense July sun as logistics around microphones and group assignments were sorted out. Given the heat, I would suggest organizing these details in advance and moving to shaded areas when delays arise. It would also be helpful if group lists were finalized and shared ahead of time—perhaps even on the bus before each tour begins. One of the main reasons I chose this pilgrimage was for spiritual renewal and to reconnect with God, and I’m grateful that it did bring me closer to Him. That said, I was surprised that there was no dedicated time set aside for adoration, confession, or prayer in the beautiful churches we visited. These moments are so important during a pilgrimage and could be meaningfully integrated into the itinerary. I found myself stepping away from parts of the tours to make space for this spiritual time, which I think should be more intentionally built in. Lastly, we never received an updated physical itinerary. With so much happening each day, it was difficult to keep track of all the amazing places we visited. A printed version—or even a digital daily recap—would have been incredibly helpful and would still be appreciated even now. Honestly, receiving that might even bump my overall rating to 4 stars! All in all, the pilgrimage was meaningful and beautiful in many ways, and with a few adjustments, it could be even more enriching for future travelers.

The pilgrimage was jammed pack with all the holy sites and with good tour guides. I thoroughly enjoyed all the churches and places that we visited. Fr. Wichert is such a wonderful spiritual guide who not only attended to our spiritual needs - we have mass everyday and confession on demand - but also attend to our physical and emotional wellbeing. He added so much to our pilgrimage experience! He is always cheerful, witty and kept us all joyful by reciting prayers or singing hymns while on long bus rides. I am very happy that I was blessed enough to join this pilgrimage! 1

Our pilgrimage to Italy with Jimmy Akin and Trinity Travel was truly something special. It wasn’t just a trip—it was an experience full of faith, fun, and unforgettable moments. Trinity Travel organized everything with such care and professionalism. From seamless logistics to thoughtfully chosen hotels and meals, they made it easy for us to focus on what mattered: prayer, connection, and discovery. Their on-the-ground team was attentive, kind, and always one step ahead, making us feel truly cared for every day. Getting to travel with Jimmy Akin was a real treat. His talks brought a sense of wonder to each place we visited—mixing Catholic teaching, Church history, and just the right touch of mystery. It felt like we were living out episodes of Mysterious World as we explored places like Assisi, Orvieto, and Rome. But what made it truly meaningful was the group itself. We laughed, prayed, learned, and shared so much along the way. By the end, we felt like one big pilgrim family. If you’re thinking about going on a pilgrimage, I can’t recommend Trinity Travel enough. I came home refreshed in my faith—and already dreaming about the next one!
